Abstract
A content delivery platform and method for using the same are disclosed. In one embodiment, the content delivery platform comprises one or more client devices, each of the one or more client devices having memory for storing an application and one or more processors to execute the application; and a first device having a physically local content cache to store content to be served directly to the one or more client devices, each of the one or more client devices, in response to executing the application with the one or more processors, operable to: automatically detect presence of the first device; automatically connect to the first device; request content from the first device; obtain the content from the first device; and disconnect from the first device after receiving the content from the first device.

A content delivery platform comprising:
- one or more client devices, each of the one or more client devices having memory for storing an application and one or more processors to execute the application, wherein at least one of the one or more client devices is connected to a network device using a first network connection;
- and
- a first device having a physically local content cache to store content to be served directly to the one or more client devices, the at least one of the one or more client devices, in response to executing the application with the one or more processors, operable to:
- automatically store the first network connection in the memory;
- automatically search for the first device in response to said store;
- automatically detect the first device based on searching;
- automatically connect and send password information to the first device in response to said detecting;
- request content from the first device based on the password information;
- receive the content from the first device;
- disconnect from the first device;
- and
- reconnect with the network device using the first network connection after receiving the content from the first device.
A method for content delivery comprising:
- executing, by one or more client devices using one or more processors, an application, wherein at least one of the one or more client devices is connected to a network device using a first network connection,
- automatically storing, by the at least one of the one or more client devices, the first network connection in a memory;
- automatically searching, by the at least one of the one or more client devices, for a first device having a physically local content cache to store content to be served directly to the one or more client devices, in response to storing;
- automatically detecting, by the at least one of the one or more client devices, the first device based on searching;
- automatically connecting and sending password information, by the at least one of the one or more client devices, to the first device in response to said detecting;
- requesting content from the first device by the at least one of the one or more client devices based on the password information;
- receiving, by the at least one of the one or more client devices, the content from the first device;
- disconnecting, by the at least one of the one or more client devices, from the first device;
- and
- reconnecting, by the at least one of the one or more client devices, with the network device using the first network connection after receiving the content from the first device.
One or more non-transitory computer readable storage media having instructions stored thereupon which, when executed by a system having at least a processor and a memory therein, cause the system to perform content deliver operations comprising:
- executing, by one or more client devices using one or more processors, an application, wherein at least one of the one or more client devices is connected to a network device using a first network connection,
- automatically storing, by the at least one of the one or more client devices, the first network connection in a memory;
- automatically searching, by the at least one of the one or more client devices, for a first device having a physically local content cache to store content to be served directly to the one or more client devices, in response to storing;
- automatically detecting, by the at least one of the one or more client devices, t the first device based on searching;
- automatically connecting and sending password information, by the at least one of the one or more client devices, to the first device in response to said detecting;
- requesting content from the first device by the at least one of the one or more client devices based on the password information;
- receiving, by the at least one of the one or more client devices, the content from the first device;
- disconnecting, by the at least one of the one or more client devices, from the first device;
- reconnecting, by the at least one of the one or more client devices, with the network device using the first network connection after receiving the content from the first device.
