Methods, terminals and system to communicate with a telecommunication satellite

A first terminal belonging to a set of terminals including at least one other terminal, the first terminal comprising:

• at least one processor;
• and
• at least one non-transitory computer readable medium comprising instructions stored thereon which when executed by the at least one processor configure the first terminal to:
• transmit guidance data to said at least one other terminal, said guidance data being configured to guide users of said terminals in adjusting their respective positions, so that said set of terminals forms a virtual antenna array configured to generate data transmission beams directed to a telecommunication satellite, and
• once the positions of the terminals are adjusted, select at least one data transmission beam to communicate with the satellite from beams that the virtual antenna array is capable of generating, said at least one selected beam satisfying a selection criterion referred to as “communication performance criterion”.

A second terminal belonging to a set of terminals including at least one other terminal, the second terminal comprising:

• at least one processor;
• and
• at least one non-transitory computer readable medium comprising instructions stored thereon which when executed by the at least one processor configure the second terminal to:
• receive guidance data from another terminal of said set of terminals, said guidance data being configured to guide a user of said second terminal in adjusting its position, so that said set of terminals forms a virtual antenna array configured to generate data transmission beams directed to a telecommunication satellite;
• and
• once the position of the second terminal is adjusted so as to form part of the virtual antenna array, transmitting data that contribute to generating the data transmission beams.
