Abstract
The invention includes fuel cells adapted for using apparatuses and methods for instantiating chemical reactants in a nanoporous carbon powder, and further includes methods of use for such fuel cells and devices.
Claims25
A fuel cell for producing energy, comprising:
- an anode;
- a cathode;
- an intermediate dielectric barrier structure disposed between the anode and the cathode;
- a first set of one or more RAs that supply a fuel to the anode;
- and
- a source of an oxidizing agent that supplies the oxidizing agent to the cathode;
- wherein an overall reaction between the fuel and the oxidizing agent produces the energy.

A method of producing an electric current, comprising:
- providing a fuel cell comprising an anode side that comprises an anode, a cathode side that comprises a cathode, an electrolyte, and an intermediate dielectric barrier structure disposed between the anode and the cathode;
- supplying an oxidizing agent to the cathode and supplying a fuel to the anode, wherein at least one of the oxidizing agent and the fuel is produced by a set of one or more RAs;
- and
- generating the electric current between the anode and the cathode.
