Abstract
According to an aspect, an image sensor package includes a substrate, an image sensor die coupled to the substrate, and a transparent member including a first surface and a second surface, where the second surface of the transparent member is coupled to the image sensor die via one or more dam members such that an empty space exists between an active area of the image sensor die and the second surface of the transparent member. The image sensor package includes a light blocking member coupled to or defined by the transparent member.

A method for forming an image sensor package, the method comprising:
- attaching an image sensor die to a substrate;
- electrically coupling the image sensor die and the substrate;
- and
- attaching a transparent substrate to the image sensor die,
- wherein a portion of a surface of the transparent substrate is coupled to a light blocking layer, the light blocking layer reducing or blocking light that would otherwise cause flare within the image sensor package.
A method for forming an image sensor package, the method comprising:
- attaching an image sensor die to a substrate;
- electrically coupling the image sensor die and the substrate;
- attaching a transparent substrate to the image sensor die;
- coupling a light blocking layer to a perimeter of a surface of a transparent member, the light blocking layer reducing or blocking light that would otherwise cause flare within the image sensor package;
- and
- applying encapsulation material to an edge of the image sensor die and at least a portion of an edge of the transparent substrate.
A method for forming an image sensor package, the method comprising:
- attaching an image sensor die to a substrate;
- electrically coupling the image sensor die and the substrate;
- attaching a transparent substrate to the image sensor die;
- and
- coating a light blocking layer on a portion of a surface of the transparent substrate, the light blocking layer surrounding an active area of the image sensor die, the light blocking layer reducing or blocking light that would otherwise cause flare within the image sensor package.
