Abstract
A multilayer ceramic capacitor includes a multilayer body including dielectric layers and internal electrode layers, external electrodes on at least a second main surface of the multilayer body, and a stress suppression film to suppress stress provided on the multilayer body and the external electrodes. The stress suppression film includes an insulating material and extends along a first main surface and two end surfaces, or along the first main surface and two side surfaces to cover the multilayer body and the external electrodes. Ends of the stress suppression film protrude with respect to outermost surfaces of the external electrodes on a side of the second main surface.
Claims19
A multilayer ceramic capacitor, comprising:
- a multilayer body including a plurality of dielectric layers including a ceramic material, and a plurality of internal electrode layers, the multilayer body including a first main surface and a second main surface on opposite sides in a lamination direction, two lateral surfaces on opposite sides in a width direction intersecting with the lamination direction, and two end surfaces on opposite sides in a length direction intersecting with both the lamination direction and the width direction;
- a plurality of external electrodes provided on at least the second main surface of the multilayer body;
- and
- a stress relief film to mitigate stress provided on the multilayer body and the plurality of external electrodes;
- wherein
- the stress relief film includes an insulating material;
- the stress relief film extends along the first main surface and the two end surfaces or extends along the first main surface and the two lateral surfaces, so as to cover the multilayer body and the plurality of external electrodes;
- and
- an end portion of the stress relief film protrudes beyond an outermost surface of the plurality of external electrodes, on the second main surface side.
