Abstract

The present disclosure relates to an image sensor, a data processing device, and an image sensor system that allow versatility to be enhanced. An image sensor includes an event detection unit configured to detect a luminance of light received by a photodiode and output a luminance signal indicating a luminance value thereof, an event detection unit configured to obtain a difference between the luminance value represented by the luminance signal and a prescribed reference value, detects an occurrence of an event and outputs event data indicating a content of the event when the difference exceeds an event detection threshold on a positive side or an event detection threshold on a negative side, and an additional information generation unit configured to generate frame information to be added to a frame as additional information additionally provided to the event data on the basis of the event data, and a data transmission unit configured to transmit data in such a frame structure that the frame information is a part of embedded data and the event data is a part of payload data. The present technology can be applied for example to an EVS (Event based Vision Sensor).
