Systems and methods for single message transactions with batch settlement

A system for processing converted single-message transactions, the system comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• a computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising:
• receiving, by a merchant system, a transaction authorization request from a merchant terminal, wherein the transaction authorization request comprises a dual-message transaction configured to be processed by a dual-message payment network;
• setting, by the merchant system, an eligibility flag on the dual-message transaction based on an eligibility of the dual-message transaction to be converted to a single-message transaction;
• transmitting, by the merchant system, the dual-message transaction to an authorization server;
• converting, by the authorization server, the dual-message transaction to a single-message transaction based on the eligibility flag, the single-message transaction configured to be processed by a single-message payment network;
• setting, by the authorization server, a conversion flag on the single-message transaction, wherein the conversion flag comprises an indication that the single-message transaction is a converted dual-message transaction;
• capturing, by the merchant system, data associated with the transaction authorization request from the merchant terminal;
• transmitting, by the merchant system, the transaction authorization request and the data to a single-message payment network for processing based on the conversion flag;
• and
• receiving, by the merchant system, a transaction result message for the transaction authorization request.

A non-transitory machine-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform a method for processing converted single-message transactions, the method comprising:

• receiving, by a merchant system, a transaction authorization request from a merchant terminal, wherein the transaction authorization request comprises a dual-message transaction configured to be processed by a dual-message payment network;
• setting, by the merchant system, an eligibility flag on the dual-message transaction based on an eligibility of the dual-message transaction to be converted to a single-message transaction;
• transmitting, by the merchant system, the dual-message transaction to an authorization server;
• converting, by the authorization server, the dual-message transaction to a single-message transaction based on the eligibility flag, the single-message transaction configured to be processed by a single-message payment network;
• setting, by the authorization server, a conversion flag on the single-message transaction, wherein the conversion flag comprises an indication that the single-message transaction is a converted dual-message transaction;
• capturing, by the merchant system, data associated with the transaction authorization request from the merchant terminal;
• transmitting, by the merchant system, the transaction authorization request and the data to a single-message payment network for processing based on the conversion flag;
• and
• receiving, by the merchant system, a transaction result message for the transaction authorization request.
