Document recommendation using contextual embeddings

A non-transitory computer readable medium storing code, the code comprising instructions executable by a processor to:

• encode a plurality of candidate sentences from a candidate document to obtain a plurality of contextual sentence embeddings, wherein each of the plurality of contextual sentence embeddings represents a semantic context of a corresponding sentence from the plurality of candidate sentences;
• generate a candidate document embedding by combining the plurality of contextual sentence embeddings;
• and
• identify a document based on the candidate document embedding.

An apparatus comprising:

• at least one processor;
• a memory including instructions executable by the processor;
• a sentence encoder configured to encode a plurality of candidate sentences from a candidate document to obtain a plurality of contextual sentence embeddings;
• and
• an aggregation component configured to generate a candidate document embedding by combining the plurality of contextual sentence embeddings.
