Abstract
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for using mergeable libraries. One of the methods includes during a build of an executable target, generating the executable target by merging the executable target with data for a library that was previously linked with the executable target.
Claims20
A computer-implemented method comprising:
- during a build of an executable target, generating the executable target by merging the executable target with data for a library that was previously linked with the executable target.
A system comprising one or more computers and one or more storage devices on which are stored instructions that are operable, when executed by the one or more computers, to cause the one or more computers to perform operations comprising:
- presenting, in an integrated development environment user interface and for a library, a user interface element that a user can select to indicate a linking type for the library from a plurality of linking types;
- receiving, from a device, input indicating selection, using the user interface element, of a particular linking type for the library from the plurality of linking types;
- and
- adding, to a source code file of the library, data indicating the particular linking type that will cause a linker to link the library with an executable target using the particular linking type.
One or more non-transitory computer storage media encoded with instructions that, when executed by one or more computers, cause the one or more computers to perform operations comprising:
- receiving a request to execute an executable target that was built by merging the executable target with data for a library that was previously linked with the executable target;
- and
- in response to receiving the request, executing the executable target.
