Systems and methods for physical proximity and/or gesture-based chaining of vr experiences

An apparatus comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• a memory storing instructions operative, when executed by the processor, to cause the apparatus to:
• establish a connection between a first device and a second device, the second device presenting an immersive visual experience to a user of the second device;
• and
• use the first device, selecting an experience sharing mode from among one or more available user-selectable experience sharing modes, the available user-selectable experience sharing modes at least comprising:
• a first mode that presents to a user of the first device, status information of the immersive experience of the user of the second device,
• a second mode that presents to a user of the first device, time synchronized visuals from the immersive experience of the user of the second device, the time synchronized visuals presented in a window or a portion of a display of the first device, and
• a third mode that presents to a user of the first device, time synchronized visuals from the immersive experience of the user of the second device, the time synchronized visuals presented as a fully immersive visual experience in the display of the first device.
