Abstract
The present invention relates to methods for the in vitro diagnosis of gastric cancer, and to compositions and methods for the prevention or the treatment of gastric cancer, wherein said compositions comprise an antibody binding to progastrin and said methods comprise the use of an antibody binding to progastrin.
Claims15
A method for the in vitro diagnosis of gastric cancer in a subject, comprising the steps of:
- a) contacting said biological sample from said subject with at least one progastrin-binding molecule,
- b) detecting the binding of said progastrin-binding molecule to progastrin in said sample, wherein said binding indicates the presence of gastric cancer in said subject.
A composition for use in the prevention or the treatment of gastric cancer, wherein said composition comprises a progastrin-binding antibody, or an antigen-binding fragment thereof.
