A method for imbalance detection of a wheel of a vehicle by providing a motor torque of a motor of a steering system of the vehicle, providing a position of a rotor of the motor, and detecting the imbalance of a wheel as a function of the motor torque and the rotor position. A method for detecting imbalance of a wheel of a vehicle, comprising:
- providing a motor torque of a motor of a steering system of the vehicle;
- providing a position of a rotor of the motor;
- and
- detecting the imbalance of a first wheel as a function of the motor torque and the rotor position.
