Catheter shaft and associated devices, systems, and methods

A catheter comprising:

• an elongated shaft having a proximal portion, a distal portion, and an intermediate portion therebetween;
• wherein:
• the intermediate portion has a proximal region, an overlapping region, and a distal region, the overlapping region being between the proximal region and the distal region;
• the proximal region includes a polymer structure, a first braid at least partially coextensive the polymer structure, and a second braid coextensive with at least a portion of the first braid;
• the overlapping region includes:
• (a) the polymer structure, (b) a coil at least partially positioned in the polymer structure, and (c) the second braid coextensive with at least a portion of the coil;
• a proximal terminus of the coil is at a border between the proximal region and the overlapping region;
• and
• a distal terminus of the second braid is at a border between the overlapping region and the distal region.

A catheter comprising:

• an elongated shaft having a proximal portion, a distal portion, and an intermediate portion therebetween;
• wherein:
• the intermediate portion has a proximal region, an overlapping region, and a distal region, the overlapping region being between the proximal region and the distal region;
• the proximal region includes a polymer structure, a first braid at least partially coextensive the polymer structure, and a second braid coextensive with at least a portion of the first braid;
• the overlapping region includes:
• (a) the polymer structure, (b) a coil at least partially positioned in the polymer structure, and (c) the second braid coextensive with at least a portion of the coil;
• a proximal terminus of the coil is at a border between the proximal region and the overlapping region;
• a distal terminus of the second braid is at a border between the overlapping region and the distal region;
• and
• an outer diameter of the elongated shaft at the distal region is less than an outer diameter of the elongated shaft at the overlapping region.

A catheter comprising:

• an elongated shaft having a proximal portion, a distal portion, and an intermediate portion therebetween;
• and
• a radiopaque marker;
• wherein:
• the intermediate portion has a proximal region, an overlapping region, and a distal region, the overlapping region being between the proximal region and the distal region;
• the proximal region includes a polymer structure, a first braid at least partially coextensive the polymer structure, and a second braid coextensive with at least a portion of the first braid;
• the overlapping region includes:
• (a) the polymer structure, (b) a coil at least partially positioned in the polymer structure, and (c) the second braid coextensive with at least a portion of the coil;
• a proximal terminus of the coil is at a border between the proximal region and the overlapping region;
• a distal terminus of the second braid is at a border between the overlapping region and the distal region;
• and
• the radiopaque marker is positioned along the distal portion distal of a distal terminus of the coil.
