Abstract
The present invention relates to an antimicrobial composition, more particularly to a method and a composition to prevent or mitigate bodily malodour, especially present in human axilla. This is achieved by a composition that comprises a vitamin B3 compound or derivative thereof along with pectin.

A deodorant composition for reducing malodour on skin, the composition comprising:
- i. pectin;
- ii. a vitamin B3 compound selected from the group consisting of niacinamide, homologues of niacinamide, or a mixture thereof;
- and
- iii. a cosmetically acceptable base.
