Abstract
The described invention provides an endovascular device comprising a tube comprising at least one side-hole, a first segment comprising a primary opening and a second segment. The side-hole and the first segment form a working lumen. The second segment forms a support lumen where the support lumen is effective: (i) to provide stability to the working lumen of the endovascular device; (ii) to anchor the endovascular device within a blood vessel; (iii) to prevent catheter coil prolapse due to a counterforce against the endovascular device by one or more additional endovascular devices being delivered through the endovascular device to a more distal location or by a prolapsed coil tail of the endovascular device; and (iv) to facilitate placement of the second endovascular device distally.

1-55. (canceled)
A method of treating an intracranial aneurysm in a patient, wherein the method comprises:
- providing an endovascular device, wherein the endovascular device includes:
- a proximal segment;
- a distal segment including a tapered outer diameter and a constant inner diameter;
- and
- at least one side-hole located between the proximal segment and the distal segment;
- introducing a guide catheter into a precerebral artery;
- advancing an endovascular device through the guide catheter such that endovascular device spans the intracranial aneurysm;
- positioning the at least one side-hole adjacent to a neck of the intracranial aneurysm;
- confirming that the at least one side-hole is centered on the intracranial aneurysm via imaging;
- positioning the distal segment in apposition with the precerebral artery to thereby anchor the endovascular device and reduce kickback and/or prolapse;
- advancing a microcatheter into the intracranial aneurysm through the proximal segment and the at least one side-hole;
- advancing an aneurysm treatment device through the microcatheter and into the intracranial aneurysm;
- deploying the aneurysm treatment device;
- removing the microcatheter;
- removing the endovascular device;
- and
- removing the guide catheter.
A method of treating an intracranial aneurysm in a patient, wherein the method comprises:
- introducing a guide catheter into a precerebral artery via a vascular access site;
- introducing a delivery device into the precerebral artery;
- advancing an endovascular device through the guide catheter over the delivery device such that a side-hole of the endovascular device is positioned substantially adjacent to the intracranial aneurysm and such that an end-hole of the endovascular device is positioned distally of the intracranial aneurysm;
- rotating the endovascular device such that the side-hole of the endovascular device is oriented towards the intracranial aneurysm;
- removing the delivery device;
- advancing a microcatheter through a first segment of the endovascular device and into the intracranial aneurysm through the side-hole, wherein the first segment extends proximally of the side-hole;
- anchoring the endovascular device to inhibit kickback and/or prolapse;
- advancing an aneurysm treatment device through the microcatheter and into the intracranial aneurysm, wherein the aneurysm treatment device is attached to a delivery system;
- deploying the aneurysm treatment device;
- performing radiographic confirmation of positioning of the aneurysm treatment device;
- detaching the aneurysm treatment device from the delivery system;
- removing the microcatheter;
- removing the endovascular device;
- removing the guide catheter;
- and
- establishing hemostasis at the vascular access site.
A method of treating an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) in a patient, wherein the method comprises:
- advancing an endovascular device into an artery such that a side-hole of the endovascular device is positioned substantially adjacent to a vessel attached to the AVM, wherein the endovascular device includes:
- a first segment extending proximally from the side-hole;
- and
- a second segment extending distally from the side-hole;
- positioning the endovascular device such that the side-hole is oriented towards the AVM;
- advancing a microcatheter through a side-hole of the endovascular device and into the vessel attached to the AVM;
- anchoring the endovascular device within the artery to inhibit kickback and/or prolapse;
- advancing a treatment device through the microcatheter and into the AVM;
- deploying the treatment device;
- removing the microcatheter;
- and
- removing the endovascular device.
