Abstract
The present application relates to the treatment of nematode infections. For example, the application relates to the use of compounds of Formula (III) as defined herein for treatment of a nematode infection or a disease, disorder or condition arising from a nematode infection.

A namaticidal composition comprising a carrier and a compound of Formula (III)
- wherein:
- R3 is H, NR5R6, C1-10alkyl, C2-10alkenyl, C2-10alkynyl, C1-10alkyleneNR5R6;
- C2-10 alkenyleneNR5R6 or C2-10alkynyleneNR5R6;
- R4 is H, OH, halo, C1-10alkyl, C2-10alkenyl, C2-10alkynyl, OC1-10alkyl, OC1-10haloalkyl, SC1-10 alkyl or SC1-10haloalkyl, the latter seven groups being unsubstituted or substituted with CN, or C(O)NH2;
- X1, X2, X3, X4 and X5 are independently CR7 or N;
- Y1, Y2 and Y3 are independently CRB;
- R5 and R6 are independently H or C1-6alkyl;
- R7 and R8 are independently H, halo, C1-10alkyl, OC1-10alkyl or OC1-10haloalkyl, the latter three groups being unsubstituted or substituted with NR9R10;
- and
- R9 and R10 are independently H or C1-6alkyl,
- wherein the compound of Formula (III) is present in an amount effective to treat a nematode infection in a subject in need thereof.

- or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt and/or solvate thereof,
- wherein:
- R11 is H, C1-4alkyl, C2-10alkenyl, C2-10alkynyl, C1-10alkyleneNR13R14, C2-10 alkenyleneNR13R14 or C2-10alkynyleneNR13R14;
- R12 is H, OH, C1-8alkyl, C2-10alkenyl, C2-10alkynyl, C1-10haloalkyl, OC1-6alkyl, OC2-10alkenyl, OC2-10alkynyl, OC1-10haloalkyl, SC1-10alkyl or SC1-10haloalkyl;
- X6, X7, X8, X9 and X10 are independently CR15 or N;
- Y4, Y5 and Y6 are independently CR16;
- R13 and R14 are independently H or C1-6alkyl;
- R15 and R16 are independently H, halo, C1-6alkyl, C1-6haloalkyl, OC1-10alkyl or OC1-6 haloalkyl the latter four groups being unsubstituted or substituted with NR17R18;
- and
- R17 and R18 are independently H or C1-6alkyl;
- provided the compound is not 2-(4-(trifluoromethoxy)phenyl)-5-propylpyridine or 2-(4-(difluoromethoxy)phenyl)-5-propylpyridine.
