A self-contained hose reel for a pool comprising:
- a housing;
- a valve positioned within the housing, the valve configured to change between a first mode and a second mode;
- a drum configured to move a hose, wherein the drum rotates in a first direction when the valve is in the first mode, and the drum rotates in a second direction when the valve is in the second mode, the housing, the valve, and the drum are configured to be positioned within the pool.
