Catheter sheath devices and methods of operating catheter sheath device

A catheter sheath flushing system comprising:

• an elongated catheter sheath comprising a proximal end portion and a distal end portion, the elongated catheter sheath configured to be insertable into a patient body distal end portion first, the elongated catheter sheath including a first lumen sized to allow delivery of at least a distal end portion of a catheter therethrough, the elongated catheter sheath further comprising a housing physically coupled to the proximal end portion of the elongate catheter sheath;
• and
• a vessel detachably couplable with the elongated catheter sheath and the housing thereof, the vessel including an internal cavity sized to retain at least a portion of the catheter,
• wherein the vessel comprises a first opening in fluid communication with the internal cavity,
• wherein the housing includes a second opening sized to restrict delivery of at least the distal end portion of the catheter therethrough, the second opening in fluid communication with the internal cavity at least in a first state of the vessel, and
• wherein the first opening is configured to be a fluid inlet port for fluid introduced into the vessel, and the second opening is configured to be a fluid outlet port for the fluid introduced into the vessel to reduce occurrences of gas present in the internal cavity of the vessel.
