Abstract
A brake system includes a reservoir, a master cylinder module, a brake pedal, a push rod, a first pressure control unit, a second pressure control unit, a first electronic control unit (ECU), a second ECU, and a redundant ECU. The first ECU is configured to control a brake actuator in the first pressure control unit, the second ECU is configured to control a brake actuator in the second pressure control unit, and the redundant ECU is configured to control at least one brake actuator in the first pressure control unit and/or at least one brake actuator in the second pressure control unit.
Claims21
A brake system, comprising:
- a brake pipe;
- a first pressure controller comprising a first brake actuator;
- a second pressure controller comprising a second brake actuator, wherein the second pressure controller is configured to connect to a controlled wheel through the brake pipe;
- a first electronic control unit (ECU) configured to control the first brake actuator;
- a second ECU configured to control the second brake actuator;
- and
- a redundant ECU configured to control at least one of the first brake actuator or the second brake actuator,
- wherein the first pressure controller and the second pressure controller are configured to independently or jointly complete a braking operation on the controlled wheel under control of at least one of the first ECU, the second ECU, or the redundant ECU.
An apparatus, comprising:
- a first electronic control uni (ECU);
- a second ECU;
- and
- a brake actuator separately coupled to the first ECU and the second ECU,
- wherein the first ECU and the second ECU are configured to independently or jointly drive the brake actuator.
