Power tool having a manually-movable sleeve for retaining a bit

A power tool comprising;

• a motor,
• a housing that houses the motor;
• a hammer case disposed on a front side of the housing;
• a hammer operably driven by the motor and housed in the hammer case;
• a bearing held by the hammer case;
• an anvil configured to be rotationally impacted by the hammer, the anvil being rotatably supported by the bearing and protruding forward from the hammer case;
• a grip portion disposed below the housing;
• a manually-movable sleeve configured to be slidable in a front-rear direction along a front end of the anvil;
• and
• a ring-shaped flat spring having break that defines two circumferentially-facing ends of the flat spring;
• wherein:
• the anvil has an insertion hole extending in the front-rear direction, into which a bit is insertable from a front side, and a through hole extending radially from the insertion hole,
• a ball is disposed in the through hole,
• the manually-movable sleeve is configured to block the ball from moving radially outward at a retracted position of the manually-movable sleeve and to permit the ball to move radially outward at an advanced position of the manually-movable sleeve;
• the ring-shaped flat spring radially surrounds at least a portion of the ball and biases the ball radially inwardly,
• the ring-shaped flat spring is configured such that at least a portion of the flat spring is exposed at the advanced position of the manually-movable sleeve, and
• at least a portion the through hole is radially surrounded by a front end of the hammer case.

A power tool comprising:

• a motor:
• a housing that houses the motor;
• a hammer case disposed on a front side of the housing;
• a hammer operably driven by the motor and housed in the hammer case;
• a bearing held by the hammer case;
• an anvil configured to be rotationally impacted by the hammer, the anvil being rotatably supported by the bearing and protruding forward from the hammer case;
• a grip portion disposed below the housing;
• a manually-movable sleeve configured to be slidable in a front-rear direction along a front end of the anvil;
• and
• a ring-shaped flat spring having a break that defines two circumferentially-facing ends of the flat spring;
• wherein:
• the anvil has an insertion hole extending in the front-rear direction, into which a bit is insertable from a front side, and a through hole extending radially from the insertion hole,
• a ball is disposed in the through hole;
• the manually-movable sleeve configured to block the ball from moving radially outward in the radial direction at a retracted position of the manually-movable sleeve and to permit the ball to move radially outward at an advanced position of the manually-movable sleeve;
• the ring-shaped flat spring radially surrounds at least a portion of the ball,
• the ring-shaped flat spring is configured such that at least a portion of the flat spring is exposed at the advanced position of the manually-movable sleeve, and
• an inner peripheral surface of the flat spring is configured to contact the ball to bias the ball radially inwardly.
