Abstract
A method of processing a telephone signal comprising voice signals and data signals, the method comprising detecting the presence of an artefact in the telephone signal indicative of the presence of a data signal fragment associated with an earlier attenuation of a data signal and processing the telephone signal by further attenuating the telephone signal in the region of the artefact in order to remove the data signal fragment from the telephone signal.
Claims30
A method of processing a telephone signal comprising voice signals and data signals, the method comprising:
- attempting an attenuation of a data signal in the telephone signal;
- detecting a presence of an artefact in the telephone signal indicative of the presence of a residual data signal fragment associated with the attempted attenuation of a data signal;
- and
- processing the telephone signal by further attenuating the telephone signal in a region of the artefact in order to remove the residual data signal fragment from the telephone signal.

A telephone call processor for processing telephone calls comprising voice signals and data signals, the call processor being configured to perform operations comprising:
- receiving voice signals and data signals at a first telephone interface;
- attempting an attenuation of a data signal in the telephone signal;
- detecting a presence of an artefact in the telephone signal indicative of the presence of a residual data signal fragment associated with the attempted attenuation of a data signal;
- processing the telephone signal by further attenuating the telephone signal in a region of the artefact in order to remove the residual data signal fragment from the telephone signal;
- and
- transmitting the processed voice signals and data signals via a second telephone interface.
