Resin composition and molded article

Abstract

Provided is a resin composition by which can be obtained a molded article that can maintain a high level of strength and in which an increase in a yellowness index (YI) value is suppressed, even when irradiated with ultraviolet light for a long period of time. Also provided is a molded article formed from the resin composition. The resin composition contains a polyamide resin and a triazine-based ultraviolet absorber. The polyamide resin contains a xylylenediamine-based polyamide resin containing diamine-derived structural units and dicarboxylic acid-derived structural units with 70 mol % or more of the diamine-derived structural units being derived from a xylylenediamine, and 70 mol % or more of the dicarboxylic acid-derived structural units being derived from an α,ω-linear aliphatic dicarboxylic acid having from 6 to 14 carbons. When in a state of a 10 mg/L chloroform solution, the triazine-based ultraviolet absorber has an absorbance at a wavelength of 290 nm of 0.50 or more, and the content of the triazine-based ultraviolet absorber is 0.50 mass % or more in relation to the total mass of the resin composition.
