Abstract
The present invention provides a handle device for a lid of a compartment. The handle device comprises a housing for attachment to the lid of the compartment, where the housing comprises a slot extending into the housing from a front of the housing. A handle portion is sized to slidably fit into the slot of the housing for retraction and deployment from the housing.

A handle device for a lid of a compartment comprising:
- a housing for attachment to the lid of the compartment, said housing comprising a slot extending into the housing from a front of the housing;
- and
- a handle portion sized to slidably fit into the slot of said housing for retraction and deployment from the housing.
