Abstract
Devices and methods for improving the longevity of a wig installation include a device sized and configured to circumscribe a human head that is used to substantially prevent a liquid from contacting the periphery of an installation of a wig on a human head when the device is circumscribing the human head. A bottom portion of an inner surface of the device is configured to cover at least a portion of an adhesive used in the wig installation.
Claims20
A device sized and configured to circumscribe a human head, the device comprising:
- a top portion proximate to a top edge;
- a bottom portion proximate to a bottom edge;
- a first end portion positioned between the top edge and the bottom edge;
- a second end portion positioned between the top edge and the bottom edge and located at an opposite end of the device from the first end portion;
- an inner surface configured to face towards the head when the device is wrapped around the head;
- an outer surface configured to face away from the head when the device is wrapped around the head;
- a releasable fastener configured to fasten the first end portion to the second end portion such that the device is configured to circumscribe the human head when the fastener fastens the first and second end portions;
- and
- wherein the inner surface comprises a first inner surface portion comprising a first material and extending from the bottom edge to an intermediate point on the inner surface and configured to form a substantially liquid-resistant seal between the scalp of the head proximate to a hairline of the head and a second inner surface portion comprising a second material different from the first material.
A method of using a device configured to wrap around a head of a human to substantially prevent a liquid from contacting the periphery of a wig installation, the method comprising:
- positioning a bottom portion of an inner surface of the device adjacent to skin of the head and proximate to the position of an interface between a wig and the skin of the head so that the bottom portion of the inner surface of the device is configured to cover at least a portion of an adhesive used in the wig installation;
- positioning a top portion of the inner surface of the device adjacent to the wig;
- fastening a first end portion of the device to a second end portion of the device so as to form a substantially liquid-resistant barrier between the skin of the head and the bottom portion of the inner surface of the device so as to protect a periphery of a wig installation from liquid;
- wherein a material from which the bottom portion of the inner surface of the device is formed is different than the material from which the top portion of the inner surface of the device is formed.
