Terminal configuration method and apparatus

A terminal, comprising at least one processor, a memory, and a wireless transceiver, wherein the at least one processor comprises an application processor;

• the memory is configured to store program instructions and data;
• and
• the at least one processor is configured to execute the program instructions in the memory to cause the terminal to perform operations comprising:
• when determining, using the wireless transceiver, that a subscriber identity module (SIM) card in the terminal is powered on, reading first information from the SIM card;
• sending, using the wireless transceiver, the first information to the application processor;
• and
• obtaining, using the application processor, based on the first information, an operator parameter, wherein the operator parameter is used by the terminal to access a network of the operator by using the SIM card;
• and
• the first information comprises an international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI), a service provider name (SPN), and/or a global identifier (GID).

A non-transitory computer-readable medium, comprising program instructions that, when executed by a processor of a terminal, cause the terminal to perform operations comprising:

• when determining that a subscriber identity module (SIM) card in the terminal is powered on, reading first information from the SIM card;
• sending the first information to an application processor;
• and
• obtaining, based on the first information, an operator parameter, wherein the operator parameter is used by the terminal to access a network of the operator by using the SIM card;
• and
• the first information comprises an international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI), a service provider name (SPN), and/or a global identifier (GID).
