Abstract
New components for gasoline additives can be made. The new components for gasoline additives may be provided as amides. The gasoline additives that have these new amide components can be used for improving fuel efficiency, removing or reducing deposits on intake valves, and removing or reducing fouling of injector nozzles.

An amide of formula (I)
- R1—(C═O)—(NR2)—R3
- wherein
- R1 is a linear or branched C7- to C29-alkyl, or C7- to C29-alkenyl,
- R2 is hydrogen or a C1- to C4-alkyl, and
- R3 is a hydrocarbyl residue comprising 12 to 200 carbon atoms obtainable from polymerisation of an olefin mixture comprising at least one selected from the group consisting of propene, 1-butene, and iso-butene.
