Abstract
A method for processing polyester plastic waste material, such as post-consumer polyethylene terephthalate waste material, using hot-melt extrusion of the plastic waste material in the presence of a depolymerisation agent and a plasticising agent comprising one or more inorganic salts.
Claims26
A method for processing plastic waste material comprising polyester, the method comprising:
- performing hot-melt extrusion of an extrusion mixture comprising the plastic waste material and a depolymerisation agent to depolymerise the polyester;
- wherein the extrusion mixture further comprises a plasticising agent comprising one or more inorganic salts.
