Abstract
A food recycler includes a case, a control system within the case, and a set of user interface components that are usable to at least cause the control system to initiate a food recycling cycle. The food recycler also includes a motor within the case and a bucket that has a volumetric capacity between 2.51 and 10 liters. A filter system configured to accommodate air filters is also included in the case of the food recycler. To remove water from waste food items, the food recycler includes a drying component.
Claims20
A food recycler, comprising:
- a controller comprising at least one user interface component usable to at least initiate a food recycling cycle;
- a motor in electrical communication with the controller;
- a bucket contained within the food recycler, the bucket having a single hole at a top of the bucket for directly receiving food and for unloading compost, wherein the motor is positioned on at least in part adjacent to a side wall of the bucket, and wherein the food recycler is configured to be used on a countertop;
- a grinding blade connected to the motor having a first portion of the grinding blade and a second portion of the grinding blade;
- a chopping projection configured to extend inwardly from an interior wall of the bucket such that the chopping projection is positioned blow the first portion of the grinding blade and above the second portion of the grinding blade;
- a lid having a cavity for guiding air from the bucket to a filter;
- and
- a filter system configured to include a removable air filter that is inserted into the food recycler and that receives the air guided from the cavity of the lid.
A food recycler comprising:
- a case that includes a control system;
- a set of user interface components in electrical communication with the control system, wherein the set of user interface components being accessible from an exterior of the case and usable to at least cause the control system to initiate a food recycling cycle;
- a motor in communication with the control system;
- a bucket contained within the case;
- a filter system having a removable filter;
- a lid configured above the bucket and including a cavity for directing air from the bucket to the filter system;
- and
- a drying component configured to remove water from waste food items.
