Abstract
Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, forming one or more downlink (DL) beams associated with subarrays of an antenna, performing signal transmissions using the one or more DL beams, and performing polarization adjusting for signals associated with the one or more DL beams such that each of the signals is oriented in a particular polarization, thereby improving signal reception by user equipment (UEs) associated with the one or more DL beams. Other embodiments are disclosed.

A method, comprising:
- forming one or more downlink (DL) beams associated with subarrays of an antenna, the antenna being part of a communications system;
- and
- performing polarization adjusting for signals associated with the one or more DL beams such that each of the signals is oriented in a particular polarization based on a noise detection process, thereby improving signal reception by user equipment (UEs) associated with the one or more DL beams.
A non-transitory machine-readable medium, comprising executable instructions that, when executed by a processing system including a processor and associated with an antenna system, facilitate performance of operations, the operations comprising:
- forming one or more downlink (DL) beams associated with subarrays of an antenna, the antenna being part of a communications system;
- and
- performing polarization adjusting for signals associated with the one or more DL beams such that each of the signals is oriented in a particular polarization based on a noise detection process, thereby improving signal reception by user equipment (UEs) associated with the one or more DL beams.
A device, comprising:
- a processing system including a processor;
- and
- a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processing system, facilitate performance of operations, the operations comprising:
- forming one or more downlink (DL) beams associated with subarrays of an antenna, the antenna being part of a communications system;
- and
- performing polarization adjusting for signals associated with the one or more DL beams such that each of the signals is oriented in a particular polarization based on a noise detection process, thereby improving signal reception by user equipment (UEs) associated with the one or more DL beams.
