Abstract
Various techniques are provided to assemble, manufacture, and use a power source. A power source assembly system is provided to apply a compressive force on a plurality of battery cells so that the battery cells may be inserted into a compact container without damaging the battery cells.
Claims20
A system comprising:
- a compression mechanism including a set of moveable arms configured to apply a compressive force on a plurality of battery cells to compress at least a portion of the plurality of battery cells;
- and
- a container dimensioned to receive at least a portion of the compressed plurality of battery cells therein,
- wherein the container includes a groove disposed along a first surface of the container and configured to engage a complimentary rib disposed along an end surface of the plurality of battery cells.

A method comprising:
- applying a compressive force on a plurality of battery cells to compress at least a portion of the plurality of battery cells by using a compression mechanism, wherein the compression mechanism includes a set of moveable arms;
- and
- inserting at least a portion of the compressed plurality of battery cells into a container,
- wherein the container includes a groove disposed along a first surface of the container and configured to engage a complimentary rib disposed along an end surface of the plurality of battery cells.
