System and method for individualized mission risk assessment based on pilot physiological monitoring

A system for assessing the fulfillment of a mission plan by a pilot, the system comprising:

• a memory configured for storage of:
• at least one flight plan, each flight plan comprising a duration and a sequence of one or more flight operations;
• and
• processor-executable encoded instructions;
• and
• one or more processors configurable by the encoded instructions for:
• receiving physiological monitoring data corresponding to a pilot and a first flight plan fulfilled by the pilot, the physiological monitoring data sensed by at least one aircraft-based sensor;
• performing, based on the received physiological monitoring data and the associated first flight plan, at least one inflight fatigue observation corresponding to at least one flight operation of the first flight plan;
• performing, based on one or more of the received physiological monitoring data and the at least one inflight fatigue observation and subsequent to fulfillment of the first flight plan, at least one postflight fatigue assessment configured to assign a current fatigue state to the pilot;
• adding the at least one postflight fatigue assessment and the at least one inflight fatigue observation to a pilot profile corresponding to the pilot;
• receiving from the memory at least one second flight plan for fulfillment by the pilot;
• and
• performing a preflight risk assessment corresponding to the at least one second flight plan, the preflight risk assessment comprising at least one of:
• a first risk assessment corresponding to a fulfillment of the at least one second flight plan by the pilot;
• and
• a second risk assessment corresponding to an execution by the pilot of at least one flight operation of the at least one second flight plan.
