Recommendation policy manager for predictive networking

An apparatus, comprising:

• one or more network interfaces;
• a processor coupled to the one or more network interfaces and configured to execute one or more processes;
• and
• a memory configured to store a process that is executable by the processor, the process when executed configured to:
• obtain a plurality of characteristics of different portions of a network for which a predictive networking engine is available;
• provide the plurality of characteristics of the different portions of a network to a user interface;
• receive, via the user interface, a set of one or more constraints to limit recommendations by the predictive networking engine for a selected portion of the network from among the different portions of the network;
• and
• configure the predictive networking engine to prevent it from generating recommendations for the selected portion of the network according to the set of one or more constraints.

A tangible, non-transitory, computer-readable medium storing program instructions that cause a device to execute a process comprising:

• obtaining, by the device, a plurality of characteristics of different portions of a network for which a predictive networking engine is available;
• providing, by the device, the plurality of characteristics of the different portions of a network to a user interface;
• receiving, at the device and via the user interface, a set of one or more constraints to limit recommendations by the predictive networking engine for a selected portion of the network from among the different portions of the network;
• and
• configuring, by the device, the predictive networking engine to prevent it from generating recommendations for the selected portion of the network according to the set of one or more constraints.
