Determining Responses to User Requests with Vehicle Information to Enable Learning

An apparatus, comprising:

• a memory;
• and
• a processor configured to execute instructions stored on the memory to:
• maintain historical vehicle information, collected from multiple vehicles in a vehicle transportation network, in a historical database, wherein historical vehicle information for a vehicle includes historical data elements corresponding to data types;
• receive a user request via a communications network;
• determine, based on the user request, to respond with a historical data element from the historical database or a current data element from current vehicle information collected from a current vehicle that is active in the vehicle transportation network;
• and
• return a response to the user request via the communications network, wherein the response includes the historical data element or the current data element.

A system, comprising:

• a fleet of vehicles in a vehicle transportation network;
• a communications network;
• and
• a server configured to execute instructions operable to cause one or more processors to perform operations comprising:
• maintaining historical vehicle information, collected from multiple vehicles in a vehicle transportation network, in a historical database, wherein historical vehicle information for a vehicle includes historical data elements corresponding to data types;
• receiving a user request via the communications network;
• determining, based on the user request, to respond with a historical data element from the historical database or a current data element from current vehicle information collected from a current vehicle that is active in the vehicle transportation network;
• and
• returning a response to the user request via the communications network, wherein the response includes the historical data element or the current data element.
