Abstract
A damage detection system for monitoring a magnetised structure for damage comprising: a magnetometer; and a controller configured to: receive a first magnetic field signal of the magnetised structure from the magnetometer; receive a second magnetic field signal of the magnetised structure from the magnetometer; determine magnetic field displacement data based on the second magnetic field signal and the first magnetic field signal; and determine a condition of the magnetised structure based on the magnetic field displacement data.

A damage detection system for monitoring a magnetized structure for damage comprising:
- a safety structure comprising:
- the magnetized structure, wherein the magnetized structure comprises ferromagnetic material and creates its own magnetic field;
- and
- a magnetometer;
- and
- a controller configured to:
- receive a first magnetic field signal of the magnetized structure from the magnetometer;
- receive a second magnetic field signal of the magnetized structure from the magnetometer;
- determine magnetic field displacement data based on the second magnetic field signal and the first magnetic field signal;
- and
- determine a condition of the magnetized structure based on the magnetic field displacement data.

A computer implemented method of monitoring a magnetized structure of a safety structure for damage, the safety structure comprising:
- the magnetized structure, wherein the magnetized structure comprises ferromagnetic material and creates its own magnetic field;
- and
- a magnetometer,
- the method comprising:
- receiving a first reference magnetic field of the magnetized structure from a magnetometer arranged to monitor the magnetized structure;
- receiving a second reference magnetic field of the magnetized structure from the magnetometer;
- determining magnetic field displacement data based on the second reference magnetic field and the first reference magnetic field;
- and
- determining a condition of the magnetized structure based on the magnetic field displacement data.
