Abstract
The present invention relates to new pyridine-sulfonamide derivatives of formula (I′) as sigma ligands having a great affinity for sigma receptors, especially the sigma-1 receptor (σ1) and/or sigma-2 receptor (σ2), as well as to the process for the preparation thereof, to compositions comprising them, and to their use as medicaments.

A compound of the formula:
- or a salt thereof, a co-crystal thereof, a prodrug thereof, or a solvate thereof,
- wherein:
- A is a moiety or the formula:
- B is —NR1R1′;
- a branched or unbranched C1-6 alkyl radical;
- a branched or unbranched C1-6 haloalkyl radical;
- an heterocycloalkyl radical containing at least an O as heteroatom;
- or an heteroaryl radical containing at least one N as heteroatom optionally substituted with a C1-6 haloalkyl radical;
- one of W1 or W2 is —N— and the other is —CH—;
- each of R1 and R1′ is independently H, a branched or unbranched C1-6 alkyl radical or a moiety of the formula —C(O)R where R represents a C1-6 alkyl radical, with the proviso that at least one of R1 and R1′ is not H;
- or
- alternatively R1 and R1′ together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached to form a 5- to 12-membered N-containing heterocyclic ring that (i) may further contain one or more additional heteroatoms selected from the group consisting of N, O or S, and (ii) is optionally substituted by one or more Ra radicals;
- each of Ra is independently H;

- an alkylaryl radical;
- or an alkylheteroaryl radical;
- wherein the aryl and the heteroaryl groups is optionally substituted by one or more R3′ radicals;
- R3′ is a branched or unbranched C1-6 alkyl radical, halide, —CN, a C1-6 haloalkyl radical, —OH, or a C1-6 alkoxy radical;
- R4 is CH(NR2R3) or NR3;
- each of R5, R5′, R5″, and R5′″ is independently H;
- a branched or unbranched C1-6 alkyl radical;
- a C1-6 alkoxy radical;
- halide;
