Abstract
An electrical connector having a housing formed of a non-halogenated flame retardant polymer composition is described. The non-halogenated flame retardant polymer composition is formulated to meet flammability performance requirements while maintaining a balance of flexibility and stiffness to allow for the connector to operate properly.
Claims20
An electrical connector comprising:
- a housing formed of a non-halogenated flame retardant polymer composition, the housing having latches;
- wherein the non-halogenated flame retardant polymer composition meets flammability performance requirements while allowing the latches to flex without breakage and allowing the latches to provide sufficient retaining forces.
A process for making an electrical connector by an additive manufacturing process comprising forming a housing using additive manufacturing with a non-halogenated flame retardant polymer composition which meets flammability performance while maintaining a balance of flexibility and stiffness to allow the connector to operate correctly.
