## Abstract

A system can receive a request for transport from a computing device of a user and select a service provider to provide transport for the user to a destination location. The system can receive location data from the computing device of the service provider. After the service provider picks up the user, the system can determine whether the service provider progresses toward the destination location in accordance with a set of progress conditions. Based at least in part on determining that the service provider has not progressed toward the destination location in accordance with the set of progress conditions, the system can adjust a fare for providing transport for the user to the destination location.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A network computer system comprising:
one or more processors; and
a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the network computer system to:
receive, over one or more networks, a request for transport from a computing device of a user, the request including a pickup location;
select a service provider to provide transport for the user to the pickup location;
update a state of the service provider to indicate that the request has been accepted;
receive, over the one or more networks, location data from the computing device of the service provider;
based at least in part on the location data and upon the state of the service provider indicating that the request has been accepted, determine whether the service provider progresses toward the pickup location in accordance with a set of progress conditions; and
based, at least in part, on determining that the service provider has not progressed toward the pickup location in accordance with the set of progress conditions, generate a warning to be displayed on a user interface of the computing device of the service provider.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The network computer system of claim 1, wherein the location data indicates a real-time location of the service provider, and wherein the executed instructions cause the network computer system to monitor the real-time location of the service provider to determine whether the service provider progresses toward the pickup location in accordance with the set of progress conditions.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The network computer system of claim 1, wherein the warning
notifies the service provider that the set of progress conditions are not being met.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The network computer system of claim 1, wherein the executed instructions further cause the network computer system to:
transmit, over the one or more networks, a set of recommendations to the computing device of the service provider to encourage the service provider to meet the set of progress conditions.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The network computer system of claim 4, wherein the executed instructions cause the network computer system to further determine that the service provider has not progressed toward the pickup location in accordance with the set of progress conditions based on the set of recommendations not being followed.

### Claim 6 (depends on 4)

The network computer system of claim 4, wherein the set of recommendations comprise at least one of a route recommendation or one or more movement recommendations.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The network computer system of claim 1, wherein the executed instructions further cause the network computer system to:
repeatedly determine, based on the location data, an estimated time of arrival (ETA) of the service provider to the pickup location;
wherein the executed instructions cause the network computer system to determine that the service provider has not progressed toward the pickup location in accordance with the set of progress conditions based on the repeatedly determined ETA of the service provider to the pickup location.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

The network computer system of claim 7, wherein the executed instructions further cause the network computer system to:
determine current traffic conditions within a service area in which the service provider operates;
wherein the executed instructions cause the network computer system to further determine that the service provider has not progressed toward the pickup location in accordance with the set of progress conditions based on the current traffic conditions.

### Claim 9

A non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a network computer system, cause the network computer system to:
receive, over one or more networks, a request for transport from a computing device of a user, the request including a pickup location;
select a service provider to provide transport for the user to the pickup location;
update a state of the service provider to indicate that the request has been accepted;
receive, over the one or more networks, location data from the computing device of the service provider;
based at least in part on the location data and upon the state of the service provider indicating that the request has been accepted, determine whether the service provider progresses toward the pickup location in accordance with a set of progress conditions; and
based, at least in part, on determining that the service provider has not progressed toward the pickup location in accordance with the set of progress conditions, generate a warning to be displayed on a user interface of the computing device of the service provider.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)

The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 9, wherein the location data indicates a real-time location of the service provider, and wherein the executed instructions cause the network computer system to monitor the real-time location of the service provider to determine whether the service provider progresses toward the pickup location in accordance with the set of progress conditions.

### Claim 11 (depends on 9)

The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 9, wherein the
warning notifies the service provider that the set of progress conditions are not being met.

### Claim 12 (depends on 9)

The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 9, wherein the executed instructions further cause the network computer system to:
transmit, over the one or more networks, a set of recommendations to the computing device of the service provider to encourage the service provider to meet the set of progress conditions.

### Claim 13 (depends on 12)

The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 12, wherein the executed instructions cause the network computer system to further determine that the service provider has not progressed toward the pickup location in accordance with the set of progress conditions based on the set of recommendations not being followed.

### Claim 14 (depends on 12)

The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 12, wherein the set of recommendations comprise at least one of a route recommendation or one or more movement recommendations.

### Claim 15 (depends on 9)

The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 9, wherein the executed instructions further cause the network computer system to:
repeatedly determine, based on the location data, an estimated time of arrival (ETA) of the service provider to the pickup location;
wherein the executed instructions cause the network computer system to determine that the service provider has not progressed toward the pickup location in accordance with the set of progress conditions based on the repeatedly determined ETA of the service provider to the pickup location.

### Claim 16 (depends on 15)

The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 15, wherein the executed instructions further cause the network computer system to:
determine current traffic conditions within a service area in which the service provider operates;
wherein the executed instructions cause the network computer system to further determine that the service provider has not progressed toward the pickup location in accordance with the set of progress conditions based on the current traffic conditions.
