Methods for determining physical measurements and system thereof

A method implemented by a computing device and comprising:

• aligning a known first dimension of a reference object within a digital image to a second dimension of a primary object within the digital image;
• determining a calibration factor for the digital image;
• and
• determining a physical measurement of the second dimension using the calibration factor and a pixel dimension of the primary object, wherein the pixel dimension corresponds to a length of the second dimension measured in pixels.

A method implemented by a computing device and comprising:

• determining a calibration factor for a digital image and first and second distances between respective first and second pairs of points within the digital image, wherein the first and second pairs of points correspond to respective first and second length measurements of a primary object represented in the digital image;
• determining first and second numbers of pixels disposed between the first and second pair of points, respectively;
• and
• determining the first and second length measurements based on the calibration factor and the first number of pixels and the calibration factor and the second number of pixels, respectively.

A method implemented by a computing device and comprising:

• obtaining a digital image of a primary object and a reference object having known linear dimensions viewable in the digital image;
• and
• determining pixel dimensions of the reference object based on the digital image, a calibration factor based on the pixel dimensions and the known linear dimensions, and a constraint dimension of the primary object in accordance with the calibration factor, wherein:
• the digital image has λv or a λh parameter greater than 40,000;

A method implemented by a computing device and comprising:

• obtaining a two-dimensional digital image that includes an object to be measured;
• altering one or more characteristics of the two-dimensional digital image to transform the obtained two-dimensional digital image, wherein the one or more characteristics comprise an orientation, a shape, or a level of magnification;
• and
• generating and outputting a measurement of the object using the transformed two-dimensional digital image and a three-dimensional algorithm.
