Web Service System and Method

A system comprising:

• a load balancer, a computing device, and a node,
• wherein the load balancer comprises:
• one or more processors;
• and
• memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors of the load balancer, cause the load balancer to:
• receive, from the computing device, a request comprising a network address of an addressable discrete service that provides application functions, wherein a plurality of different instances of the addressable discrete service are available on a corresponding plurality of different nodes having network addresses different from the network address of the addressable discrete service;
• and
• cause, by the load balancer, based on the request, and using the network address of the addressable discrete service, execution of an instance of the addressable discrete service, of the plurality of different instances, at a node of the plurality of different nodes,
• wherein the computing device comprises:
• one or more processors;
• and
• memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors of the computing device, cause the computing device to:
• send the request, and
• wherein the node comprises:
• one or more processors;
• and
• memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors of the node, cause the node to:
• execute the instance of the addressable discrete service.
