Systems and methods for stateless management of a virtualization platform

A method comprising:

• receiving, at a central management service, a first HTTP communication including an HTTP request,
• receiving, at the central management service, data parameters, wherein the data parameters include a virtual machine identifier;
• determining, by the central management service and based on the data parameters, a database query;
• executing the database query against an inventory database, wherein the database query includes the virtual machine identifier as a lookup key, and wherein the database query returns data fields related to the virtual machine identifier;
• and
• including, in a reply communication, the data fields related to the virtual machine identifier.

A system comprising at least one computer including a processor and a memory, wherein the at least one computer is configured to:

• receiving, at a central management service, a first HTTP communication including an HTTP request,
• receiving, at the central management service, data parameters, wherein the data parameters include a virtual machine identifier;
• determining, by the central management service and based on the data parameters, a database query;
• executing the database query against an inventory database, wherein the database query includes the virtual machine identifier as a lookup key, and wherein the database query returns data fields related to the virtual machine identifier;
• and
• including, in a reply communication, the data fields related to the virtual machine identifier.

A non-transitory computer readable storage medium, including instructions stored thereon, which instructions, when read and executed by one or more computer processors, cause the one or more computer processors to perform steps comprising:

• receiving, at a central management service, a first HTTP communication including an HTTP request,
• receiving, at the central management service, data parameters, wherein the data parameters include a virtual machine identifier;
• determining, by the central management service and based on the data parameters, a database query;
• executing the database query against an inventory database, wherein the database query includes the virtual machine identifier as a lookup key, and wherein the database query returns data fields related to the virtual machine identifier;
• and
• including, in a reply communication, the data fields related to the virtual machine identifier.
