Distributed diagnostics for network wide route policy analyzer and other use cases

A device comprising:

• an interface configured to enable network communications;
• a memory;
• and
• one or more processors coupled to the interface and the memory, and configured to:
• receive a list of multiple calls-of-interest to monitor;
• detect a failure of one of the calls-of-interest;
• trigger, in response to detecting the failure of one of the calls-of-interest, diagnostics data analysis of data associated with the failure of one of the calls-of-interest;
• determine, based on the diagnostics data analysis, a cause of the failure of the one of the calls-of-interest;
• and
• notify a management system of the cause of the failure of the one of the calls-of-interest.

One or more non-transitory computer readable storage media encoded with instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to:

• receive a list of multiple calls-of-interest to monitor;
• detect a failure of one of the calls-of-interest;
• trigger, in response to detecting the failure of one of the calls-of-interest, diagnostics data analysis of data associated with the failure of one of the calls-of-interest;
• determine, based on the diagnostics data analysis, a cause of the failure of the one of the calls-of-interest;
• and
• notify a management system of the cause of the failure of the one of the calls-of-interest.
