Abstract
A method is provided. The method includes processing a first request for buffer status received from an access point (AP) and transmitting, during the first uplink multi-user transmission to the AP and in response to the first request for buffer status, a first uplink null data packet including a signal indicating existence of data to be sent from a station (STA) to the AP. The first request for buffer status schedules a first uplink multi-user transmission indicating a plurality of resources indicating existence of data to be sent to the AP. Transmitting the first uplink null data packet includes the STA transmitting the signal on a first resource of the plurality of resources.
Claims10
A method for a station (STA) to facilitate communication in a wireless network for multi-user transmissions, comprising:
- processing, by the STA, a first request for buffer status received from an access point (AP), wherein the first request for buffer status scheduling a first uplink multi-user transmission and indicating a plurality of resources that indicates existence of data to be sent to the AP;
- and
- transmitting, by the STA, during the first uplink multi-user transmission to the AP and in response to the first request for buffer status, a first uplink null data packet comprising a signal indicating existence of data to be sent to the AP, wherein transmitting the first uplink null data packet comprises one or more processors of the STA transmitting the signal on a first resource of the plurality of resources.
A method for an access point (AP) to facilitate communication in a wireless network for multi-user transmissions, comprising:
- sending, by the AP, a first request for buffer status to a non-AP station (STA), wherein the first request for buffer status scheduling a first uplink multi-user transmission and indicating a plurality of resources indicating existence of data to be sent to the AP;
- and
- receiving, by the AP, during the first uplink multi-user transmission from the non-AP STA and in response to the first request for buffer status, a first uplink null data packet having a signal indicating existence of data to be sent to the AP, wherein the AP receiving the first uplink null data packet comprises the AP receiving the signal on a first resource of the plurality of resources.
