Secondary battery comprising a current collector comprising a current collector protrusion and a current collector opening

A secondary battery comprising:

• an electrode body that includes a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate;
• an outer body that has an opening and houses the electrode body;
• a sealing plate that seals the opening;
• an external terminal that is attached to the sealing plate;
• tabs that are provided in the positive electrode plate or the negative electrode plate;
• a current collector that electrically connects the tabs to the external terminal,
• an injection port that is formed in the sealing plate, and wherein
• the electrode body includes a first sub electrode body and a second sub electrode body,
• each of the first sub electrode body and the second sub electrode body has the positive electrode plate and the negative electrode plate,
• the first sub electrode body has a first tab of the tabs,
• the second sub electrode body has a second tab of the tabs,
• each of the first tab and the second tab is extending toward the sealing plate from an edge of a corresponding one of the first sub electrode body and the second sub electrode body adjacent to the sealing plate,
• the first tab is joined to a first joint portion in the current collector, the second tab is joined to a second joint portion in the current collector,
• the first joint portion and the second joint portion are aligned in a short direction of the sealing member, and
• at least a portion of the injection port is located between the first joint portion and the second joint portion in the short direction.
