Abstract
A support structure for a retractable banner housing assembly comprising a rotatable elongate mounting rod that may be directly or indirectly affixed to a flexible banner, the support structure having a base member and a positioning member supported by the base member to orient the housing assembly in a desired upright position.

A retractable banner assembly for selective placement by a user on a walking surface, comprising:
- a housing assembly comprising a rotatable elongate mounting rod that may be directly or indirectly affixed to a corresponding flexible banner, and
- a support structure for the housing assembly, the support structure comprising a base member, and a positioning member supported by the base member, the positioning member orienting the housing assembly in a desired upright position.
A portable, non-anchored, self-supporting, support structure for a retractable banner housing assembly, the housing assembly comprising a rotatable elongate mounting rod that may be directly or indirectly affixed to a flexible banner, the support structure comprising:
- a base member;
- and
- a positioning member supported by the base member to orient the housing assembly in a desired upright position.
