Information processing apparatus and transaction management system

A transaction management system, comprising:

• a server apparatus for managing transaction information;
• and
• a checkout machine for executing checkout processing, wherein
• the server apparatus includes:
• a communication interface connectable to a portable registration terminal, an attendant terminal, and the checkout machine;
• a storage unit for storing transaction information from the portable registration terminal;
• and
• a processor configured to:
• store transaction information received from the portable registration terminal via the communication interface in association with a transaction identification and a check completion flag, the check completion flag indicating whether the transaction requires a store clerk confirmation before transaction completion;
• receive a transaction information request indicating the transaction identification via the communication interface from the checkout machine;
• and
• in response to transaction information request, output the transaction information corresponding to the transaction identification if the check completion flag indicates the store clerk confirmation has been completed or an error message if the check completion flag indicates the store clerk confirmation has not been completed.

A transaction management system for retail stores, comprising:

• a server apparatus for managing transaction information;
• a plurality of checkout machines for executing checkout processing in a checkout area of a store;
• and
• an attendant terminal at an entrance to the checkout area, wherein
• the server apparatus includes:
• a communication interface connectable to a portable registration terminal, the attendant terminal, and the plurality of checkout machines;
• a storage unit for storing transaction information from the portable registration terminal;
• and
• a processor configured to:
• store transaction information received from the portable registration terminal via the communication interface in association with a transaction identification and a check completion flag, the check completion flag indicating whether the transaction requires a store clerk confirmation before transaction completion;
• receive a transaction information request indicating the transaction identification via the communication interface from the checkout machine;
• and
• in response to transaction information request, output the transaction information corresponding to the transaction identification if the check completion flag indicates the store clerk confirmation has been completed or an error message if the check completion flag indicates the store clerk confirmation has not been completed.
