System and Method for a Transportation or Freight Capacity Exchange for One or More Transportation or Freight Capacity Units

A computing system, comprising:

• a user device associated with a first user of a plurality of users, the user device comprising:
• one or more processors;
• and
• at least one memory comprising program instructions executable by the one or more processors to:
• transmit transportation data to one or more servers, wherein the transportation data corresponds to one or more transportation modes, and wherein the transportation data comprises data corresponding to a geographic origin and a geographic destination for the one or more transportation modes;
• receive market depth data from the one or more servers based on the transmitted transportation data, wherein the market depth data corresponds to a transportation forward market platform provided by the one or more servers, wherein the transportation market platform is configured to facilitate trading of a plurality of transportation capacity units, and wherein:
• a respective transportation capacity unit represents a fungible forward contract for one or more seats in one or more vehicles traveling along one or more virtual hub routes determined by the one or more servers based on the transportation data, wherein the one or more vehicles correspond to the one or more transportation modes;
• and
• the market depth data comprises data indicating a plurality of bid prices and a plurality of offer prices from the plurality of users for the plurality of transportation capacity units;
• and
• generate one or more interfaces based on the received market depth data.

A method, comprising:

• transmitting, from a user device associated with a first user of a plurality of users, transportation data to one or more servers, wherein the transportation data comprises data corresponding to a geographic origin and a geographic destination for one or more freight capacities;
• receiving, at the user device, market depth data from the one or more servers based on the transmitted transportation data, wherein the market depth data corresponds to a freight forward market platform provided by the one or more servers, wherein the freight market platform is configured to facilitate trading of a plurality of freight capacity units, and wherein:
• a respective freight capacity unit represents a fungible forward contract for the one or more freight capacities traveling along one or more virtual hub routes determined by the one or more servers based on the transportation data;
• and
• the market depth data comprises data indicating a plurality of bid prices and a plurality of offer prices from the plurality of users for the plurality of freight capacity units;
• and
• generating, at the user device, one or more interfaces based on the received market depth data.
