Abstract
An example method involves causing a control device to display a graphical user interface that comprises an indication of a first zone of a media playback system, wherein the media playback system comprises the first zone and a second zone, and wherein the graphical user interface does not comprise an indication of the second zone. The example method further involves detecting, by the control device, an input that indicates a command to cause the first zone to form a zone group with the second zone and play back a target media in synchrony with the second zone. The method further comprises, based on the detected input, causing the first zone to form a zone group with the second zone and play back the target media in synchrony with the second zone.
Claims20
A computing device comprising:
- a user interface;
- at least one processor;
- at least one non-transitory computer readable medium;
- and
- program instructions stored on the at least one non-transitory computer readable medium that are executable by the at least one processor such that the computing device is configured to:
- play back given media content;
- while playing back the given media content, determine that a first playback device is available to play back the given media content, wherein the first playback device is grouped with at least a second playback device for synchronous playback of media content;
- display, via the user interface, a selectable indication that the first playback device is available to play back the given media content, wherein the selectable indication that the first playback device is available to play back the given media content does not comprise an indication of the second playback device;
- detect user input indicating a selection of the selectable indication that the first playback device is available to play back the given media content;
- based on the user input, cause the first playback device, and not the second playback device, to begin playing back the given media content;
- and
- after causing the first playback device to begin playing back the given media content, display an indication of playback of the given media content by the first playback device.
A non-transitory computer readable medium, wherein the non-transitory computer readable medium is provisioned with program instructions that, when executed by at least one processor, cause a computing device to:
- play back given media content;
- while playing back the given media content, determine that a first playback device is available to play back the given media content, wherein the first playback device is grouped with at least a second playback device for synchronous playback of media content;
- display, via the user interface, a selectable indication that the first playback device is available to play back the given media content, wherein the selectable indication that the first playback device is available to play back the given media content does not comprise an indication of the second playback device;
- detect user input indicating a selection of the selectable indication that the first playback device is available to play back the given media content;
- based on the user input, cause the first playback device, and not the second playback device, to begin playing back the given media content;
- and
- after causing the first playback device to begin playing back the given media content, display an indication of playback of the given media content by the first playback device.
A method carried out by a computing device, the method comprising:
- playing back given media content;
- while playing back the given media content, determining that a first playback device is available to play back the given media content, wherein the first playback device is grouped with at least a second playback device for synchronous playback of media content;
- displaying, via the user interface, a selectable indication that the first playback device is available to play back the given media content, wherein the selectable indication that the first playback device is available to play back the given media content does not comprise an indication of the second playback device;
- detecting user input indicating a selection of the selectable indication that the first playback device is available to play back the given media content;
- based on the user input, causing the first playback device, and not the second playback device, to begin playing back the given media content;
- and
- after causing the first playback device to begin playing back the given media content, displaying an indication of playback of the given media content by the first playback device.
