Abstract
A display device includes a display panel, and a lighting device configured to illuminate the display panel. The lighting device includes a light-guiding plate, a light-emitting element configured to emit a red laser beam toward a side surface of the light-guiding plate, and a phase difference plate placed between the side surface of the light-guiding plate and the light-emitting element.

A display device comprising:
- a display panel;

- a lighting device configured to illuminate the display panel, wherein
- the lighting device comprises:
- a light-guiding plate;
- a light-emitting element configured to emit a red laser beam toward a side surface of the light-guiding plate;

- a phase difference plate placed between the side surface of the light-guiding plate and the light-emitting element.
