Abstract
A wireless motion detection system is provided which uses a sharp band-stop and low-pass filters to reject unwanted low and high frequency components of a signal in the CSI. A gap in the frequency domain is caused by taking the absolute value of the signal when using the absolute value of channel matrix Hv for motion detection. A sharp band-stop (notch) filter is used to reject any unwanted signals that have significant components in this gap. A low-pass filter is used to reject all unwanted signal after the motion highest frequency.
Claims19
A method comprising:
- retrieving from a memory accessible to an electronic device a channel matrix comprising channel state information of a wireless link operating according to a defined wireless standard where channel state information of different frequency sub-bands of the wireless link is in a first dimension of the channel matrix and different samples or packets is in a second dimension of the channel matrix;
- and
- filtering with an agent in execution upon the electronic device the retrieved channel matrix to generate a filtered channel matrix by applying a low-pass filter and a notch filter to the established channel matrix;
- wherein
- the low-pass filter filters out a predetermined type of unwanted high frequency signals from the established channel matrix;
- and
- the notch filter filters out a predetermined type of unwanted low frequency signals from the established channel matrix.
A non-transitory storage medium storing computer executable instructions wherein the computer executable instructions when executed by a microprocessor cause the at least one microprocessor to execute a process comprising:
- retrieving from a memory accessible to an electronic device comprising the microprocessor a channel matrix comprising channel state information of a wireless link operating according to a defined wireless standard where channel state information of different frequency sub-bands of the wireless link is in a first dimension of the channel matrix and different samples or packets is in a second dimension of the channel matrix;
- and
- establishing an agent executing upon the microprocessor and filtering with the agent the retrieved channel matrix to generate a filtered channel matrix by applying a low-pass filter and a notch filter to the established channel matrix;
- wherein
- the low-pass filter filters out a predetermined type of unwanted high frequency signals from the established channel matrix;
- and
- the notch filter filters out a predetermined type of unwanted low frequency signals from the established channel matrix.
