Abstract
A heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system. The HVAC system includes a sensor that detects a temperature of a heater of a heating component and emits a signal indicative of the temperature. A flow management device controls a flow of electricity or fuel from a power source to the heating component. A controller receives the signal from the sensor and operates the flow management device to block the flow of electricity or fuel to the heating component when the signal is indicative of the temperature being above a set point.
Claims20
A heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system, comprising:
- a heating component configured to heat an airflow directed through the HVAC system;
- one or more sensors configured to detect a presence of a refrigerant of the HVAC system and to generate a signal indicative of the presence of the refrigerant;
- a switch or valve configured to regulate a flow of electricity or fuel to the heating component;
- and
- a controller configured to:
- receive the signal indicative of the presence of the refrigerant;
- and
- in response to the signal, actuate the switch or valve to block the flow of the electricity or fuel to the heating component.
A controller of a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system, wherein the controller configured to perform operations comprising:
- receiving a signal indicative of a presence of a refrigerant from a sensor of the HVAC system;
- and
- operating a flow management device to block a flow of electricity or fuel to a heating component of the HVAC system based on the signal indicative of the presence of the refrigerant.
A method comprising:
- receiving, via a controller of a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system, a signal indicative of a presence of a refrigerant from a sensor of the HVAC system;
- and
- operating a flow management device to block a flow of electricity or fuel to a heating component of the HVAC system based on the signal indicative of the presence of the refrigerant.
